Objective: To study the effects of strengthening parenting ability for the prevention their adolescents from risks behaviors.

Method: Quasi-Experimental with one group pre-posttest design was chosen, Participant consisted of 55 parents of teenage boys and girls aged 12-15 years. Study tool consisted of parenting training program based on establishing child's integrity concept and participatory learning process. Parenting practice questionnaire, questions for group discussion, and handbook for parents title "Protecting child from harm" Quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistic. Interviewing data was analyzed by content analysis.

Results: The findings indicated that the parents troubled with parenting during adolescence. They concerned about health risk behaviors. Before experimenting, most of parenting practice scores were in medium level. After two sessions of parenting training program and giving the handbook the scores of parenting practice were increased and signiticant different (p<.01). The participants had satisfaction with the program and needed more avalable time for individual consultation.

Conclusions: This strengthening parenting ability program could increase parenting practice score for prevention adolescent health risk behaviors. For future research, Iongitudinal study is needed for follow up the outcomes regarding to parenting practice behaviors and adolescent health risk behaviors. In addition, counseling service for parents should be provided in the study area.
